Did Those Struggling with Housing Vote in Reno?
"I think the number one deterrent (to vote) is the people (with) homes don’t think about it, but if you’re homeless and carrying everything on your back you need someone to watch your stuff,” Lori said. #NevadaVote reporter Lucia Starbuck from the Reynolds Sandbox went around Record street today to find out about how those on the streets felt about the election and whether they voted. They said there should be a national holiday for elections so everyone could have more of a chance to vote. We now await the results for Reno, Nevada and the US. Once the election cycle is done with, though, will our local politicians really take issues of homelessness and the affordable housing crisis seriously?
