Lucia is a senior majoring in journalism, with a minor in cinema and media studies. Lucia is an advocate for women’s rights and will act as watchdog during the election. Lucia registered to vote as soon as she turned 18 and is eager to report about elections as a journalist.

With interests in writing, photography, video, audio and on-air reporting, she is a “jack-of-all-trades” who wants to use her various skills to keep the public informed. She emphasizes the importance of entertainment within journalism; if a piece is engaging, it is more likely to effectively do its job.

I came to UNR as a freshman in the fall of 1964. I'm back to continue my journalism career. I was the Sagebrush editor in 1972, but drifted away from journalism in the years between then and now. My work history includes IT Consultant and Banquet Captain among others. Here at UNR I am a general science major specializing in journalism and politics.
